This text deals with the problems of shaping national structure of the Czech Lands. It is mentioned primarily historical context with beginning of German's colonization of border (peripheral) areas of the Czech Lands in 13th century and later competitions Czechs and Germans during 19th and the first half of 20th century. In next part of the text are following changes of national structure after 1945 (Czechoslovakia with regard to Czech Lands) to the present including legislative point of views.

This study focuses on the possibilities of using the Velvet Revolution in the didactic process, with special attention to the events in 1989 at the level of Czech towns and districts. The archives and library collections that are currently available are described in more detail. It also indicates organizational provision of project teaching on the Velvet Revolution at local level in the pedagogical process at secondary schools.

Cross-curricular Relationships in Social Sciences and History Instruction

The possibility of curriculum integration is a new progressive element of curricular reform. The article tries to explain the meaning of integration, its advantages and possible ways of realization. It then focuses closer on the possibilities, advantiges and benefits of integration in teaching history and social sciences. Selected examples show, how cross-curricular relations can solve the problem of insufficient subject matter presentation in history textbooks that are currently being used in secondary schools.

The paper presents the problems of the position of philosophy in the system of education, with regard to other, so called special sciences, as well as their mutual relations. Their solution is not easy because of the specific character of philosophy. The author, on the basis of his many years' experience of lecturing, presents some recommendations. The aim of the paper is to demonstrate the necessity to provide both students of secondary grammar schools and students at universities with philosophical education.

Walls and Fences in the Context of Migration

This study focuses on contextualization of walls and fences in articles concerning migration. It studies their nature and first of all it analyses their role in relation to the phenomenon of migration. The main part of the conclusion states that walls and fences are not only the results of a tension accompanying migration but that they are a cause of intensifying that tension at the same time. The research has focused on two Czech newspapers - the tabloid Blesk and quality press Hospodářské noviny - and covered the years 2015-16.

The following article outlines the issue of the arrival of migrants and their influence on the settlement and the change of the western German cities after the Second World War. It focuses on the so-called External Signs of Immigrant Integration, their housing conditions and employment of immigrants, which can show, what formed the view of the local people on immigrants. The contribution is part of a dissertation project that focuses on the integration of Sudeten Germans in Bavaria and their Culture of Remembrance.
