The possibility of curriculum integration is a new progressive element of curricular reform. The article tries to explain the meaning of integration, its advantages and possible ways of realization. It then focuses closer on the possibilities, advantiges and benefits of integration in teaching history and social sciences. Selected examples show, how cross-curricular relations can solve the problem of insufficient subject matter presentation in history textbooks that are currently being used in secondary schools.
