The study is focused on how the contemporary Czech media inform about media issues. The research sample is based on keywords related to crucial issues (e.g., disinformation), standards of the journalist profession, and legislative measures. Owing to the application of the discourse analysis, we managed not only to describe the discussed topics but also to explore many hidden aspects characteristic for the contemporary situation of this discourse: from narrative framing and semantic definition of some terms to unspoken presumptions, which are taken for granted. The study has also discovered a change in using the terms disinformation, fake news, and hoax.

'News values' is an established term for factors that determine the selection of topics and events into the news coverage. A primary method of the German tradition of news values research, the quantitative content analysis, requires construction of a robust codebook based on catalogs of news values. There are lists elaborated for general (political) news reporting, but their application to sports journalism carries the risk of distortion.
