The Importance of Philosophy for Education

The paper presents the problems of the position of philosophy in the system of education, with regard to other, so called special sciences, as well as their mutual relations. Their solution is not easy because of the specific character of philosophy. The author, on the basis of his many years' experience of lecturing, presents some recommendations. The aim of the paper is to demonstrate the necessity to provide both students of secondary grammar schools and students at universities with philosophical education.
