In our study we are using anthropological discourse to focus on understanding multicultural ideology. Utilizing the results of our own research realized from 2014 to 2015 among teachers of elementary and high schools in Zlínský, Olomoucký and Moravskoslezský district we aimed to map teachers' approach towards the ideas of multiculturalism which we defined pragmatically in correspondence with general education programs as leading to pacifist and just coexistence of different groups with different culture, ethnicity and religion. While presenting the results of our research we mainly focus on ways multicultural education is grasped, how it's understood and in what school subjects it reflects most. The pivotal point in contemporary migratory situation is approach of the teachers towards the most reflected group, which is Roma minority. Individual ethnic groups are then usually understood as homogenous therefore as bearing the stigma of being specifically different. This stigma is then connected to stereotypes. This way of understanding ethnicity is very problematic and goes against the main ideals of multicultural education, which strives to conquer the stereotypes.
