CIVILIA: Professional Journal for Social Science Education is the first peer-reviewed, non-impact journal whose goal is to support the development and cultivation of social science education. It focuses on more general, current issues in the theory and practice of subject didactics, pedagogical research in the context of subject didactics, and the training of future and current teachers. Civilia offers publication opportunities to renowned experts and emerging authors, especially doctoral students. The journal is open to contributions from both domestic and foreign authors.

Since November 2015, the journal has been included in the European Reference Index for the Humanities and the Social Sciences - ERIH PLUS, an international database of scientific journals in the humanities and social sciences, and since November 2020, it has been included in the international EBSCO.

Civilia is an open access journal and is published under Creative Commons BY-SA 4.0 (Uveïte pùvod – Zachovejte licenci). The license terms can be found on the Creative Commons website.

Civilia Code of Ethics: Professional Journal for Social Science Education: The editorial board and editorial staff of CIVILIA, a professional journal for social science education, discussed the issue of ethical principles in publishing and ethical principles in conducting research, whose results should be published in the professional journal for social science didactics CIVILIA, and proposed to follow the principles of publication ethics in accordance with the code of ethics of the Czech Association for Pedagogical Research, z.s. (ÈAPV) https://capv.cz/eticky-kodex-capv/ and the code and recommendations for publication practice for journal editors COPE https://publicationethics.org/getting-started/what-publication-ethics. The ÈAPV code of ethics was inspired by the codes of ethics of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and the British Educational Research Association (BERA).
