The aim of the study is to analyse the potential of the book Rajčaťáci a Banáni (2023) for use in educational practice at the second level of primary schools, especially in the field of cross-curricular topics, reading and multicultural education. The text is perceived as a multimodal teaching tool with high aesthetic and pedagogical value. The structure of the interpretation is based on a qualitative methodology, specifically on a descriptive and interpretive analysis of the narrative, characters and linguistic and visual devices. Special attention is paid to cultural contrasts, images of otherness, stereotypes and their possible didactic grasp. Based on the interpretation, didactic transposition is proposed with specific educational activities and overlaps into cross-curricular relations. The findings show that the book appropriately thematizes cultural diversity, promoting the development of cultural empathy, creativity and critical thinking. The work also goes beyond traditional children´s literature and allows for a wide use in project-based learning. We conclude the study by arguing for the inclusion of this book in pedagogical practice as a tool to promote cultural sensitivity, aesthetic sensitivity and intercultural dialogue. The book links literary production with the goals of inclusive education.
