PT Journal AU Lincenyi, M Mindar, M TI Analysis of Selected Slovak Associations in the Constitution of the Independent Slovak State after the Velvet Revolution SO Civilia PY 2021 BP 74 EP 90 VL 12 IS 1 DI 10.5507/civ.2021.004 DE sovereignty; Czecho-Slovak Federation; Public opinion; Slovak Republic; Czech Republic AB In the article, the authors analyzed selected Slovak associations that shaped the public opinion of the political and lay public on the independence of the Slovak Republic as a subject of international law. After the velvet revolution, the question of a new constitutional order of the Czech-Slovak Republic on the principle of equal to equal gradually opened up. The reluctance of the Czech side to accede to the Slovak demands led the political and social development towards the gradual division of the Czech-Slovak federation in the Federal Assembly into two independent and successor states - the Slovak Republic, the Czech Republic. At present, both parties evaluate the relations of both nations as above-standard, which would not be possible in the case of the existence of the common state. ER
