AB  - This essay focuses on practical training of high school's social work students at Social policy and social work department at Masaryk University Brno. Field education is very important element of social work education. In the Czech Republic, as in most other countries, social work student learning is a combination of a college based education and field education. Author discuses importance of field education in social work placements and the crucial role of practice teachers from placements. There are presented empirical findings from survey which examined the experience of practice teachers engaged in field education. Author analyses possible risk and protective factors of field education in placements and discusses possible implications on the practical curriculum education.
